The Kogi State National Assembly/State Assembly election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja, Nigerias capital, has nullified the election of Senator Dino Melaye. Naija News reports that the tribunal nullified Senator Melayes election on Friday morning, August 23.

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal on Thursday, dismissed the petition by the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) and its candidate, Ambrose Owuru. Naija News reports HDP and Owuru were challenging the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress in the February 23 presidential election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has urged the presidential election petition tribunal to dismiss the suit filed before it by Atiku Abubakar and his team. The electoral body further submitted that the suit by Atiku and the Peoples Democratic Party challenging the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress at the February 23 presidential election in Nigeria is a sheer waste of the courts time.

The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Akure, the capital of Ondo state has sacked Ikengboju Gboluga as the member representing Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives. Gboluga was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Supreme Court on Tuesday, sacked Mustapha Usman, a member of the House of Representatives, representing Yola South/Yola North/Girei Federal Constituency of Adamawa State. Naija News reports Usman represents his constituency in the House on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Supreme Court has ruled in favour of Governor Emeka Ihedioha in the case instituted against him on his emergence as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate. Samuel Nnaemeke Anyanwu had gone to court to challenge Ihediohas emergence as the PDP candidate in Imo State during the last governorship election.

The Supreme Court has fixed August 20, 2019, to hear an application filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigerias main opposition party and its Presidential candidate in the 2019 Presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, challenging the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunals rejection of their request to access the INEC central server. Naija News recalls that the former Vice President and his party had prayed the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to grant them access to inspect the central server allegedly used by INEC to transmit results during the 2019 general elections.
