EPL: What Jurgen Klopp said ahead of last Premier League clash with Wolves

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp has written to the club and their supporters ahead of their last Premier League clash against Wolves.

This season, the Reds have conquered Barcelona and Bayern Munich during an incredible season – and they may yet topple Pep Guardiolas Manchester City in the Premier League today.

But Klopp places todays opponents, Wolves amongst those illustrious names and says Nuno Espirito Santos side have provided Liverpool with two of their toughest games this season.

Liverpool, who have only been defeated once in the Premier League this season, beat Wolves 2-0 in December before suffering a 2-1 FA Cup defeat at Molineux a month later.

Today they host Wolves knowing they must take three points to stand any chance of upsetting the odds and winning their first league title since 1990.

And, in his pre-match programme notes, Klopp continued to wax lyrical about Nuno and his impressive group of players.

Today is our last domestic game and probably our toughest, Klopp writes.

Its the most important game, not because of what might happen, but because it is next.

It is the only game we can affect and the only points we can win. I really think that is the job for all of us today: make sure the focus stays here on this game.

For us as professionals, it is not difficult, because of the power of our opponent.

I welcome Nuno Espirito Santos, his staff, players, officials and supporters of Wolves to Anfield. What a season they have, hey! What a football team.

Nuno is rightly at the top of any list where people talk about manager of the season because of what he and his guys do at Wolves.

We played them twice already this season and without doubt, they were two of the toughest games we faced.

Its not just the results – its how they achieve them. Wolves are intense. They are powerful, energetic, clever, adventurous. They believe in their plan and they execute it well.

The game today will have the intensity of a final, not because of what might happen for us but because Wolves is the opponent.

The good news is we are ready – we are battle-hardened.
